Shadow Teachers

I recently received a message from a true Shadow Teacher.

She held herself out as ethically superior to me, warning me how I was someone who was falling away from the true path. She had watched me for some time, she said, and sensed that I COULD be someone who was not like the fakes that clearly are not doing God’s work, if I was ready “to do the work and to pay the price.”

Otherwise I was just another psychic who did not have the backbone to stand against the people she deemed charlatans, and was content to be one myself.

This without ever having conversation with me before taking me to task, simply assuming she has that right.

This is ego, my friends. When a Shadow teacher tries to snare you by waving the banner of Good and Evil, True Beings and Charlatans in front of you, holding themself up as the one who judges rightly and saying that PERHAPS you could be one of the Good Ones if you are willing to “Pay the Price” and listen to THEM…

Step away.

Right teaching comes when the student seeks and asks for a teacher, not when the teacher demands obeisance, expecting the student to admit their inferiority and misguided actions.

When I teach people about whether they are hearing spirit guides or angels — or their own egos — I always tell them to listen for words that are nonjudgmental and full of compassion.

An angel will not tell you that you are better than anyone else — or that you are so much lower than they are.

A spirit guide will not deride you or insult you.

They will not tell you to do something you know is wrong.

They will not encourage you to hate or scorn others.

If you refuse the judgments, neither will they redouble their efforts to prove you wrong.

In short, if there is ego involved, what you are hearing is not truly Spirit, but your own ego trying to fool you.

The same can be said for recognizing teachers.

A true teacher does not feel the need to insult someone who refuses their teachings, or who declines to follow the teacher’s chosen path.

If a teacher’s ego is involved, know that the Universe is asking you gently, “Is that who you want to be? For you will learn from your teachers, not only knowledge, but how to be in the world.”
